C is for...
by prudence on 27-Dec-2010
Well, it's for Christmas, of course... And for Carols, with which I sang along on Christmas morning at St Paul's, thus apparently joining a nationwide upsurge.
But C is also for Cold. (I may have mentioned this before -- but it's SUMMER, and not what we have come to expect in these parts.) This is me in Ballarat yesterday... And that was AFTER the flask of hot coffee (or Coffee)...
C is also for Cricket. Moving swiftly on...
Vitally, C is for Cake. There's something very nice about collecting your Stollen and your third batch of mince pies from your favourite cakery on Christmas Day. Especially when your walk takes you past the holiday Crowds Celebrating in the park and on the beach (not so Cold that day, but overCast rather than sunny).
And there's something even nicer about rounding off your Boxing Day visit to Ballarat's highly Creditable art gallery with a visit to their new Cafe for a pot of tea and a scrumptious piece of flourless orange cake. Absolutely out of this Cosmos.
So C, primarily, is for Cake-induced Contentment...
