Pointy, pointy teeth

by nigel on 13-Feb-2011
In the previous post post I made use of the quote "pointy, pointy teeth" and indeed have just done so again.

This is one of the many phrases that for some reason lurks ready to jump to the front of the brain at the least provocation. I have only heard it said once and never read it (both, as far as I am aware) and that on that single occasion it was uttered by Roy, whom I worked with, sometime between 1989 and 1994. I do not remember his surname or what it was in reference to, but I do remember it.

The "whom I worked with" is inspired by the parrot sketch from Not The Nine O'Clock News and is not to be confused with The Dead Parrot Sketch by Monty Python, both of which I remember clearly.

Of course as I write each remembered phrase related phrases spring to mind and I could lead you on a long rambling word association football which would mean that I never finish this post and you never get to read this.

Douglas Adams, seems to have tucked an awful lot of such phrases into my grey matter, after all it is one of his phrases that titles this blog thread, he is not alone. But he and I were on the same wavelength.

Now what was I doing when I got sidetracked into this post?
