Le Cinquieme Element

In 1997 we went to Cote d'Ivoire for six months and stayed for longer.
The apartment came with a TV that displayed a few local channels, French TV by satellite and CNN.
One of the French channels showed some of the Luc Besson movies, Subway, Le Grand Bleu, Nikita, Leon, and lastly his latest movie: Le Cinquieme Element. I watched it many times as it was repeatedly broadcast and enjoyed it more each and every time.

After that we went to live in New Zealand and I hired the video tape of The Fifth Element and for the first time listened to the movie in English. Now we live in Australia and I own the DVD and watch it every once in a while. The movie in any language is a great piece of 'Space Opera' and stands the test of time.

In a few weeks we leave Australia, first for a four week holiday in India and then, assuming the visas ever turn up, to live a year or more in Malaysia.

So, as a celebration of our nomadic lifestyle, I am watching the movie as I saw it the first dozen times, dubbed into French, sans subtitles, and doesn't Bruce Willis sound odd in French?
