by prudence on 18-May-2014Candi Banyunibo is a little treasure. Nestled among the rice-fields, and known for its ornamentation, it dazzles its visitors with gorgeous details:
Not far away is Candi Barong:
A very solid, three-level job, this one, and famous for its distinctive "kala", in which the protective lion -- unlike most of his friends in other temples -- has a lower jaw:
You can motorbike right up there, it seems, but we came the back way, and were guided up the steep path by four very sweet little kids from the place where we left Rufus to be minded.
Finally, to Ratu Boko:
I'd been here before, but you never run out of photo opportunities in this lovely, spacious, hill-top place.
This trip (we always follow the "jalan tikus" or small roads) took us through more of Java's idyllic, bucolic landscapes.
And it combined well with Sate Klathak at Pak Pong's on the way home.
