From the outside, it looks like a fairly rickety shed...

But this tree-shaded, shrine-guarded construction houses two surprises.



The first is a talented lady who cooks up wonderful wanton mee. She occupies quite a small cooking area, and has at her disposal not a single horizontal shelf or surface (these are indeed rare throughout the establishment). So quite how she produces her wanton mee is a bit of a mystery. But it's the BEST...

The second surprise is a deep shelf that runs the entire width of the back wall. On it are various images, each surrounded by flowers, fruit, and beautiful porcelain. This morning, we were there for the lighting of the fat red candles and the incense sticks.

The aroma of the food melded with the scent of the incense. The clatter of the chopsticks met the little crackle of the candles.
