Seafood, coconut, flutes, and gypsies -- Sunday afternoon in KL

The seafood and coconut came from Enak, a posh Malay restaurant in the Starhill Gallery. Enak means delicious. And it really was.

We started (as everyone seems to) with the appetizer tasting platter. Grilled prawns, deep-fried squid in a crispy little noodle basket, and perkedel (tiny meat and potato patties, topped with a smear of spicy sauce, and served with the teentsiest bit of acar on the side, for sourness).

Our main was hot and sour butterfish. Good texture, excellent sauce. And to accompany that, the green mango salad was fresh and sharp.

And finally, the pudding. Manisan kelapa muda. Coconut flesh in a delicate custard, topped with meringue.

Enak's lime, mint, and soda drink went well with all this.

The flutes and gypsies came courtesy of the MPO. A Sibelius symphony, Nielsen's flute concerto, and a Liszt rhapsody.

The musical equivalents, respectively, of the butterfish, the coconut custard, and the spicy sauce.
