Kuching diary: A walk to the Thai temple
by prudence on 28-Mar-2021

On the way back from ~{purplepost~=1212~;text~=breakfast~;target~=breakfast~} the other day, our friend drove us past a Thai temple that we never knew existed...
This morning, we decided we'd walk over to investigate a bit more.
It proved such a photogenic little expedition, and it's so very, very rare to do anything remotely new these days, that I thought I'd make it a separate post, rather than bundling it in with the next Friday Gazette.

~{nilimage~=141784~;dir~=H~;alt~=crab~;caption~=You go past a very cute tyre garden~}
~{nilimage~=141785~;dir~=H~;alt~=bowtie~}
~{nilimage~=141786~;dir~=D~;alt~=overview~}
And just before you get to the temple, you pass this adorable arrangement of cat topiary, which brightens up the big road junction beautifully:

The temple, whose official designation seems to be simply Kuching Sa Thai Buddhist Association, sits quietly in a residential area.

It is not open at the moment, on account of the CMCO. But it is very lovely, especially in the sharp morning light:

~{nilimage~=141778~;dir~=H~;alt~=silhouette~}
~{nilimage~=141774~;dir~=H~;alt~=shadows~}
~{nilimage~=141779~;dir~=V~;alt~=apsara~}
~{nilimage~=141780~;dir~=H~;alt~=naga~}
A cheering little jaunt.
