Wednesday all the pigeons were sitting on the parapet of the row of shops opposite the station and keeping a wary eye on the man scrambling over the billboard by their usual spot.
Don't ask what the new advert he put up is for, it is probably not pigeon related.

Thursday and Friday they were all back on the line: but closer to the station buildings and all with their backs to the trains instead of doing some train-spotting. Closer to the station is further from the billboard so maybe this is a precautionary measure based on recent experience.

But why ignore the trains?
I guess this is all to do with aerodynamics.
If the wind is blowing with any strength then you have to orientate yourself head first, after all pigeon fly forwards don't they?
So instead of collecting multiple unit numbers they play last to lose their grip in the gusts.
