Another food source (as though we were lacking)

When we first moved into our home area, the nearest supermarket and fancy cafe area was at Sogo. Since then, Quill has opened up, as has Putra -- both malls with extensive shopping and dining opportunities.

Now we have Parkson Maju Junction, a kind of combo of the Parkson department store, a cafe enclave, and an open-plan supermarket.

The other night we tried out The Library Coffee Bar. I had a modest but very acceptable waffle (with a little butter and maple syrup). Others of us pushed the boat out a little further...

In the supermarket, we came across Whittakers' Artisan Collection, and tried out the "Nelson pear and manuka honey" variety. Big thumbs up. Really looking forward to working my way through the rest...

And then this morning, we had breakfast at Senja. A nice combination of traditional Malaysian food and elegant decor. I really enjoyed the Hainan toast (with condensed milk), served in a cute little pan, with soft-boiled eggs and local black coffee. Nigel's thick kaya toast looked pretty good, too.

How all these new offerings will fare in Malaysia's rather pinched times, I don't know.

All the more reason to lend our modest support, I suppose...
