Bukit Gasing

We returned to Petaling Jaya this morning, to climb Bukit Gasing.

This involved:

a. starting with the time-honoured mamak breakfast that I've not had for ages (namely, dosa and teh tarik);
b. taking the train to Pantai Dalam (ignoring the sign on the platform that says there's no train for 45 minutes);
c. climbing up the steep path to the top of the hill (accompanied by birdsong and cheery greetings from other hikers);
d. enjoying the views (of the city all around, of the temple at the top, of the monkeys who occupy the temple car park);
e. descending another steep path, to emerge at the park gate on the other side of the hill;
f. heading back to Taman Jaya LRT station via A&W, where the root beer float tasted even better than last time (so much so that Nigel had two).

It was a sweaty walk, of course. It's hot at the moment. But I read this week that breaking a sweat may help prevent Alzheimer's disease. So I'll never feel the same about sweaty walks (or sweaty gym sessions) again.
